Lee and I got back last night from our third trip to Guatemala. As we got off the plane, the customs officials were wearing face masks and having everyone fill out questionnaires regarding our health. We noticed the news media taking pictures, but we didn't think much of it considering it was a growing story before we left the USA. Imagine our surprise when we found our pictures on the second page of the national paper the next day! (click here to read the story.)
Though healthy as we entered the country, we both succomed to Montezuma's revenge shortly afterwards. Poor Lee was sick while we were staying in a roach infested motel that had no warm water. In fact, no shower head, only a pipe protruding through the tile wall. Imagine being sick all over yourself and not having warm water to clean yourself off. At least I didn't get sick until I was back in the States and could run to my own bathroom and clean up in a tub of warm water.

Wow we really are blessed! That is awesome that you guys are going to Guatamala to help out.
How awful to be so sick while out of the country living in those conditions. Sure hope you get feeling better soon, Peg.
