Dad and I had a wonderful trip last week to Bryce Canyon. We enjoyed the Olson family reunion very much. All of Dad's siblings and their partners were there, except for Roy. And of course, G&G Olson were there, too. The scenery is spectacular, and we enjoyed some beautiful hikes, ate at some nice and some not so nice restaurants, and played games every night in our motel room. We laughed much as we played Mormon Bridge. We spent Saturday morning visiting Cove Fort, a fort owned by the LDS Church that was built sometime around 1860 to help the pioneers who were trekking through the desert to find safety and refuge from the harsh elements as well as from the Indians. It was built by the church and Pres. Hinckley's grandparents lived there and ran it for 10 years, then his uncle took over for the next 10 years until the railroads came through and then it was no longer needed.
